Tales From The Crypt: Season VI.

FANTASTIC storytelling, FANTASTIC acting, and some FANTASTIC music in it's score!!!!

-All based on the original comic book stories.

I've heard rumours of a third "Tales From The Crypt Movie", but have yet to see any proof of it.

I'd LOVE to see it, if they do it!!!!

I saw "Demon Knight", when it was first in the theaters, waaaay back then…

I hope there WILL be a part three!!!

C'mon HBO!!!

-We KNOW YOU could afford it!!!

And, of course, this is a three disk set!

DISCLAIMER:

The music I compose, and the things I like to watch are two very different things, k?

-Just so no one is confused, or cun-foosed!

Movie Of The Day

Ha ha ha -This sounds funny every time I say it: "We went to go see Saw!" (seesaw?) Oh well.

Anyways, I did the obligatory movie marathon of the first three, before going to see this part 4.

SawSaw IISaw IIISaw IV

This part four… -Bizarre. I think I'm going to have to see it again to try to make some better sense of it.

Without giving away the whole story, I will say that it began with an autopsy of "John", where they find a tape in him. But what confuses me is that they ended this movie just past where three left off. (?!?!?!?!?!?) Did the events of part four take place at about the same time as the events of part three? -If so, then why did they end the movie with a detective getting locked into the room with John's body, and the other charactors from part three, when they had already done an autopsy?

Oh, I'm sooo confused and don't want to wait another x number of years to find out what's going on.

They play on the idea that yes, John was "Jigsaw", and Jigsaw is dead, but I'm under the impression that maybe he really wasn't Jigsaw, but he wants everyone to think he was. Really, come on now! -How else could these games continue if Jigsaw truely died? Another apprentice? -Someone has to plan and execute these traps…-And continue making cassette tapes…

-Spreaking of traps… -The traps were gruesome, for the most part, but shakey cameras and quick flashes takes away a lot of the impact these devices were meant to have on us. -They should have spent a couple more seconds showing them in action to better sicken us.

But, back to the story… Overall, I liked this part four, but it didn't seem as well planned as the first three movies…

-Back and forth into John's past, rather than sticking to the traps at hand. (-If you want to do a back story on John, or Jigsaw, then do one without all of the flashbacks, eh?) -Plus, leaving an audience guessing, and in anticipation of the next movie is one thing, but confusing them is a whole different thing. I guess we'll have to wait to find out more 'till the rumoured parts five and six are done to get a better idea as to what's really going on here.

Edited, Times Two…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on October 9, 2007 by Dark Knightingale

I've decided long ago, that it would INDEED be unethical for me to edit a post, and not tell everyone.

I don't edit often, but if I ever do, I will be happy to let you know!

This past hour, I made two changes to my most recent post called "Movie Of The Day", and I made one change in my most recent posting called "Unfinished Business: Lyrics X's 3.

More interesting of the two, is the addition to the challenge I issued to ANY bored, or otherwise intregued "Unfinished Business X's 3" reader.

The changes really don't change much to it's original presentation, but I felt they needed editing.

Happy Voxing!

Movie Of The Day…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on October 9, 2007 by Dark Knightingale

When the Catholic Church screamed "blasphemy" over this film, I (naturally) couldn't wait to get my hands on it. No, I'm not talking about "Harry Potter"… -I'm talking about

This documentary was quite an eye opener, and I'd recommend it to EVERYONE. -Especially those who claim to have faith. This film won't sway your beliefs in any way, and I don't see why the church made such a big stink over this fantastically coincidental archaeological discovery.

Executive Producer James Cameron, better known for "Titanic", presents this to us not as a ficticious movie, but as an unbiased, and factual documentary of the examination of the contents of a tomb. It's funny the way the church blindly, and ignorantly, blasted James Cameron for this film, when he didn't write it, direct it, shoot it or anything. -All he did was produce it.

In 1980, construction workers in Jerusalem uncovered a first-century tomb containing ten ossuaries (stone coffins). Six, of the ten, bore inscriptions: Jesus son of Joseph, Maria, Mariamene (the name by which Mary Magdalene was known), Joseph, Matthew and Judah son of Jesus. -ALL IN THE SAME UNDISTURBED TOMB.

Dismissed by archaeologists as coincidence, the ossuaries were warehoused and forgotton. -Apartments were constructed over the whole area, but the tomb wasn't destroyed… Just buried.

25 years later, filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici and his team went in search of these ossuaries, and the "lost" tomb.

OMG!!! You have GOT to see this film!!!

How could any church even POSSIBLY have a problem with this fantastic discovery?

Even if this really WAS the Christ family plot, how could it POSSIBLY change anyone's faith? Even the bible says of people "ashes to ashes, dust to dust". Even christians KNOW that peoples bodies decompose, while the spirit goes to heaven (or hell). Finding these particular coffins neither proves, or disproves, christianity in any way. Personally, I think it's pretty COOL to find such inscribed ossuaries. -I see it as proof that people REALLY DID have names like this 2000+ years ago, and these particular names coincide with scripture.

Common names for the time, or not, to find these particular names IN THE SAME TOMB is just fantastic!

-LOTS of info to think about in this film.

Think for yourselves. -Don't just be told.

Movie Of The Day

I finally got to see it this morning, and I think it's great! However, I will also say that this would have made a better Part 4, because of the wide gap between the infection at Racoon City and the global destruction they presented here.

Personally, I think they should have picked up right where two left off, and continued the spread of the T-Virus to surrounding cities, and eventually the globe for their part three… -And, develop her new-found powers some more.    (-Don't lie…  ALL of us RE fans, and Milla Jovovitch fans, would have paid to see it!!!) THEN jump into this. -Would have made better sense to me, and made for a better overall story.

One thing I didn't understand… These T-Virus infected creatures hunger for flesh, but don't need to eat… -Shouldn't there be more creatures? The infected birds were fantastic, but I think there should have been more of them too. -Like a constant threat, rather than the one-time threat they presented to us.

One thing I really enjoyed was seeing Las Vegas abandoned, and under a ton of sand. he he he (-I lost about $40,000 there, BUT over a 5-year period of time, and included living expenses. -I know, people have done worse…) Milla Jovovitch's "Alice" is the only one, I can recently recall, that went to Vegas and made a killing!

I think you'll enjoy this movie 'tho. -I did!

Movie Of The Day

I had time to watch a movie during all of this recent reprogramming I've been doing to my computer… My choice for "Movie Of The Day", was "Night At The Museum".

Great kids movie!

All I have to say is that I salute Ben Stiller's message about how a separation doesn't mean Dad isn't still cool.

Movie Of The Day

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on April 18, 2007 by Dark Knightingale

Today, for the Movie Of The Day, I decided to do a "Die Hard Marathon". -All three movies, one right after the other. They're coming out with a part four this summer, and I can barely wait to see it!!! It's going to be called "Live Free or Die Hard.

In part one, "Die Hard", John McClane goes to LA to spend Christmas  with his estranged wife. While he's waiting for her offices' Christmas party to break up, the building is taken over by terrorists who want to steal the bearer bonds from the buildings safe.

Part two, "Die Harder", John McClane is waiting to pick up his wife at a major international airport on Christmas Eve when the airport is taken over (once again) by terrorists who want to rescue a drug lord from custody. Airplanes, low on fuel, circle above the airport but aren't allowed to land until their "general" arrives.

Part Three, "Die Hard With A Vengeance" has (yet another) terrorist, Simon, who is bent on getting revenge on John, (John killed his brother in part one) while stealing gold from the downtown depository.

All three of these are great movies, and I look forward to part four, "Live Free Or Die Hard", which is sure to feature more terrorists….

Movie Of The Day

Cube
Cube 2-Hypercube
Cube Zero

Today's MOVIE OF THE DAY is a sci-fi series, with three parts.

We have CUBE, CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE and CUBE ZERO.

Not for the faint of heart, these movies deal with a handful of people who are placed into a seemingly endlees maze of interlocking cubical chambers which move about, some of which are booby-traped. Without food or water, they move from room to room, searching for an exit without falling victim to one of the various gruesome traps. No one knows how they got there, and no one knows where the exit is.

Part two features an advanced cube, 'tho not as gruesome, where the laws of physics don't apply. (To say much more would ruin the movie for you)

Part three (Cube Zero) is actually a prequel, which blends nicely into part one.

I've had these movies in my library for quite some time now, and I've seen them a few times. (-I like to watch DVD's when theres nothing good on tv, which is pretty often nowadays…) Parts one and three were the absolute best because the stories link together so well, and have the best (and grossest) traps.

Some of the best traps are as follows: One sprays a person with what he thinks is water, but is actually a slow-working chemical which eats away his flesh; Another has a room-sized wire mesh which slices and dices it's victims; Sound-activated spikes, and a room which emitts a noise that makes a body explode.

To properly enjoy these movies, watch them in this order: Cube Zero, Cube then Cube 2: Hypercube.

Movie Of The Day

Todays' Movie Of The Day isn't really a movie, but part of a series. (-I'm sure this will happen occasionally here…) My selection was, of course, South Park: Season 9.

Released last week, this season offered us plenty of funnies and the usual level of controversy, ranging from Mr. Garrison's sex change to the now infamous "Trapped In The Closet" episode, which got yanked from Comedy Central (for a short time) for slamming Scientology and poking fun at Tom Cruise, John Travolta and R. Kelly. Isaac Hayes, well known here as the voice of "Chef", quit the show over this episode, which is just sad because it just goes to show how Scientologists just don't have a sense of humor when it comes to their cult. But, considering that 2 of the celebrities they made fun of said nothing about it, Tom Cruise and Isaac Hayes were the only ones who really pitched a major fit about it, so maybe some of them DO have a sense of humor after all.

Also included in this set was the funny "Die Hippie Die" episode, where Cartman is called upon after the town is over-run with hippies who want to hold a week long music festival; "The Losing Edge" where the all of the little league kids try to lose their games so they won't have to spend their summer playing baseball; "Ginger Kids" where the kids dye Cartmans hair and skin to make him think he's got "gingervitis", a "disease" that only red-headed kids "have"; "Bloody Mary" where a statue of Mary begins bleeding, and everyone thinks it's a miracle, and the very funny "Two Days Before The Day After Tomorrow" which pokes fun at the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" and the handling of Louisiana's Katrina incident.

Each season has been a nice addition to my library, and this one is no exception.

I wasn't an "instant fan" of the series. After the release of their "Bigger, Longer and Uncut" movie in 1999, a friend of mine convinced me to "check it out", and I did. I found it to be one of the funniest movies I'd ever seen, and began to watch the series. I can't remember any movie that had ever made me laugh so much, and the series is just as funny.

I'm now, and have been, a BIG fan ever since!!! -My thanks to Trey Parker and Matt Stone for their genius!
